We are happy to be back at Penah Mixed Farm and getting involved in practical farm activities again.
Today, we focused on banana plantation management. We carried out desuckering to reduce overcrowding and competition for nutrients, helping the remaining plants grow more effectively. We also removed excess leaves and banana fibres to improve plant health and reduce places where pests can hide.
We also began a new project: our urban farm. The project will give us practical experience in growing a range of crops, including tomatoes, courgettes, spinach, watermelon, and African eggplant.
It is exciting to start something new while continuing to build our practical skills in crop production and farm management.
