Today at Penah Mixed Farm, we gained practical experience across several areas of farm management.
We began with an animal health assessment and noticed that some animals had swollen wattles, which we reported for further attention. We also successfully carried out milking, strengthening our hands-on skills in dairy management.
Later, we worked in the banana plantation, where we learned about different banana varieties, proper spacing, common diseases, disease control, and how to apply manure and fertilizer for healthy growth.
We ended the day by continuing work on our vegetable garden. We added manure to improve the soil and fenced the garden to protect the crops from animals and other intruders.
From dairy management to crop production, every activity is helping us turn classroom knowledge into practical agricultural skills.
