Ugandan livestock farm owners and managers are heading to Canada to explore agricultural innovations, value-added processing, and industry best practices. This exchange visit offers hands-on learning, networking, and global exposure.

Trip Highlights:
✅ Farm tours showcasing advanced farming techniques and value addition
✅ Networking with Canadian farmers and industry experts
✅ Participation in the Canada Outdoor Farm Show, attended by over 40,000 visitors worldwide

Tentative Trip Program Outline and Key Activities

Itinerary

Sept 6 (Arrival):

  • Farmers arrive in Ontario.
  • Check-in at the hotel.
  • Welcome dinner and orientation.

Sept 7–8 (Farm Visits):

  • Visit farms that excel in various areas (e.g., feeding, value additions and management)
  • Discussions with Canadian farm owners and managers on best practices and challenges.
  • Networking and sharing experiences with hosts.

Sept 9–11 (Canada’s Outdoor Farmers Show in Woodstock, Ontario):

  • Participate in the farmers show to explore exhibitions, workshops, and product demonstrations. Focus on innovations relevant to Uganda.
  • Evening debriefs to discuss insights and opportunities.

Sept 12 (Additional Farm Visits):

  • Visit farms focusing on sustainability and innovative practices.
  • Engage in Q&A and exchange ideas with hosts.

Sept 13–14 (Sightseeing and Tours):

  • Explore cultural and tourist attractions (e.g., Niagara Falls, museums, or Toronto landmarks).
  • Relaxation and team-building activities.

Sept 15 (Departure):

  • Farm owners and managers depart to Uganda.
